Veterinary laboratories receive support under the 'Agrofinancing' project

As part of the implementation of the "Agrofinancing of Value-Added Chains" project, support is being provided to state veterinary laboratories. This support includes the supply of equipment and standard samples necessary for the laboratories' operations.

According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry, the project also involves conducting practical training aimed at enhancing the qualifications of staff engaged in specific testing.

New methods for determining the residues of veterinary drugs in products are being implemented at the Veterinary Diagnostics and Expertise Center. Currently, preparations are underway for the accreditation of these methods, including for the analysis of residues in honey.

The main objective of the project is to expand the scope of accreditation by introducing methods that are critically important for ensuring the equivalence of the state control system and the sustainable export of food products.

The project will operate until the third quarter of 2027 with the involvement of foreign experts who are collaborating with professionals from the BIOR laboratory in Latvia.
