Cardiac surgeon explained which symptoms require urgent medical attention
According to the doctor, the initial signs can vary: this may include a feeling of tightness or pain in the chest, as well as tingling that may radiate to the arm, jaw, or area between the shoulder blades. These symptoms may be short-lived, but they should raise concern and prompt a visit to a doctor.
Shortness of breath, especially when it occurs during physical activity, is also a serious warning sign. "In such situations, it is extremely important to seek specialist help immediately," noted the cardiac surgeon.
Nurlan Koshoybek uulu added that while waiting for an ambulance, one should stop any physical activity and try to remain calm. If there is aspirin in the home medicine cabinet, it can be taken, but only according to previously established recommendations; self-medication with other drugs is not advised. It is also important to ensure access to fresh air and wait for medical personnel to arrive.
The specialist also explained the diagnostic process: first, the symptoms are recorded, followed by laboratory tests, an electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, and other necessary tests. In the case of a heart attack or damage to the coronary vessels, the "golden hour" is particularly important—the first two hours during which intervention can save a life and maintain the patient's quality of life.
