Why Do Young People Face Cardiovascular Diseases? An Explanation from a Cardiac Surgeon
He noted that cardiovascular diseases rank among the leading causes of mortality both in Kyrgyzstan and worldwide. Conditions such as coronary heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes pose a particular threat.
According to the doctor, the main factor contributing to the development of these diseases is lifestyle. "Smoking, lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating, dependence on fast food, stress, hypertension, and high cholesterol levels—all of these accelerate the development of cardiovascular diseases," explained Nurlan Koshoybek uulu.
The cardiac surgeon pointed out that many people do not pay attention to the early symptoms of diseases and only seek medical help at later stages, which complicates treatment.
He also added that patients aged 35-40 are increasingly coming in with serious cardiovascular issues.
"Modern people lead a sedentary lifestyle. Previously, activity levels were higher, so cardiovascular diseases occurred more often at an older age," he emphasized.
Koshoybek uulu also highlighted poor nutrition, excess weight, and smoking as important factors influencing the development of diseases. "Smoking is the main risk factor reported by all medical studies. Young people often ignore preventive check-ups and do not monitor their blood pressure and cholesterol levels, which can lead to the hidden progression of the disease and sudden heart attacks," added the cardiac surgeon.
He identified high cholesterol levels in the blood as one of the key causes of heart attacks.
