In Kyrgyzstan, there is a shortage of qualified specialists who support and treat children with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other rare diseases. This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Health Aibek Matkerimov at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee dedicated to labor, health, women's affairs, and social policy.

According to Matkerimov, discussions are currently underway with the Kyrgyz State Medical University to create a new faculty focused on training the necessary specialists.

Additionally, he added that there are plans to train all family doctors and nurses to ensure timely identification of such cases and appropriate responses to them.

The committee is also considering the implementation of the Jogorku Kenesh resolution regarding support for children with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.
