The deputy urged the Ministry of Health to fight corruption in hospitals and maternity homes.
The deputy presented a statement from a patient who was present at the meeting along with representatives from the Ministry of Health. She recounted that her mother paid 17,000 soms on the first day of hospitalization, and was also asked for 2,000 soms for anesthesia and 2,700 soms for additional services. "After the surgery, the patient was hardly attended to, and there were demands for money in the ward," the deputy quoted the letter, urging representatives of the Ministry of Health to pay attention to this issue.
He emphasized the importance of protecting patients' rights and the need to combat corruption.
The First Deputy Minister of Health acknowledged that there are indeed isolated cases of misconduct among medical staff, but the main task of the department remains the fight against corruption. As one of the steps to address this problem, an increase in medical salaries is planned, and this issue will be considered further.
In addition, the deputy pointed out the need to pay attention to maternity hospitals, where pregnant women and new mothers also face demands for money.
