Ulukbek Karybek uulu, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, expressed concern at a recent meeting of the committee on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues about the lack of a Hand Microsurgery Center in the southern part of the country.
According to him, there is only one such center operating in Kyrgyzstan, located in Bishkek, which forces patients to travel to the capital for necessary assistance.

He asked representatives of the Ministry of Health whether there are plans to open a similar center or at least a branch in Osh.

In response, Deputy Minister of Health Aibek Matkerimov stated that this issue will be studied.
“It is important to find out how many patients seek help each year. We should also consider the shortage of qualified personnel that needs to be trained,” he added.
Additionally, the deputy drew attention to complaints from citizens about staff at the Osh Regional Hospital demanding money for anesthesia.
“I also ask that attention be paid to the work of maternity hospitals. We have clearly stated in the law that childbirth and postpartum care should be free for a year,” he emphasized.
The deputy minister noted that there are isolated cases among medical workers that undermine trust in the system, and efforts to combat such violations are already underway.
