At a meeting of the committee on labor, health care, women's affairs, and social issues, Deputy Zhyldyz Egemberdieva reported that citizens without mandatory health insurance must wait at least five days for its registration.
She asked the director of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) about the possibility of reducing this timeframe.
“If a person requires urgent hospitalization and does not have mandatory health insurance, they are forced to wait five days, which may worsen their condition. Is it possible to obtain insurance in one day?” she inquired.
The head of the MHIF, Azamat Mukhanov, responded that the registration process previously took significantly longer.
“Currently, the minimum period is five days. First, the funds are deposited into the bank, then the next day the bank transfers them to us, after which we can begin processing. Additionally, it is important to remember the insurance principle: one must take care of their health in advance. For planned treatment, one should consider insurance five days ahead,” he noted.
