Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that affects both small and large joints. This disorder can manifest in both adults and children; however, it is most commonly seen in women of reproductive age, noted rheumatologist Farida Mukambaeva during a broadcast on "Birinchi Radio."

She emphasized that genetics may play a role in the onset of this disease, but its nature is not fully understood.

Among the main symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis are morning stiffness of the joints and pain, which most often occurs at night and early in the morning. According to the doctor, the small joints are affected first, followed by larger ones, which can lead to swelling and deformities in the joint area.

When signs of the disease appear, it is recommended to consult therapists, undergo radiographic examination, and take necessary tests to clarify the diagnosis and prescribe appropriate treatment. As Mukambaeva added, the therapy for rheumatoid arthritis is foundational.

To prevent the disease, it is important to undergo medical check-ups every six months, increase the intake of foods and supplements rich in calcium and collagen, maintain a normal weight, and lead an active lifestyle. The doctor also recommended including more dairy products, jellied meat, sesame, and other sources of calcium in the diet.
