The Ministry of Health will create a modern state laboratory in Bishkek

The Minister of Health, Kanibek Dosmambetov, visited one of the leading private laboratories to familiarize himself with its infrastructure. According to the Ministry of Health's press service, he analyzed the organization of the diagnostic process and logistics, as well as studied the quality control mechanisms and digital solutions used in the laboratory.

Dosmambetov noted that the existing state laboratory service does not meet modern requirements, which limits citizens' access to timely and accurate research. This is especially critical in cases requiring early diagnosis of oncological diseases and other pathologies that need prompt detection.
He emphasized that one of the main problems in the healthcare system is the late diagnosis of serious diseases, including cancer: patients often come in at stages 3-4 of the illness. In his opinion, this is related to the lack of effective laboratory diagnostics.

“Accurate diagnosis is the foundation of successful treatment. To ensure timely and accurate detection of diseases, it is necessary to create a robust laboratory base,” the minister stated.

In this regard, the Ministry of Health has begun developing a project to create a modern state reference laboratory in Bishkek, which will be equipped with high technologies, have developed logistics, and a digital infrastructure. A centralized laboratory with a network of divisions in the regions will ensure quality standards and improve the accessibility of diagnostics for the population.

Furthermore, the minister pointed out that a significant portion of research is currently performed in private laboratories, which creates a financial burden on citizens.

The establishment of a unified state laboratory will reduce the costs for the population and provide the state with the necessary tools for statistical analysis and monitoring of morbidity.

Dosmambetov also highlighted the importance of developing human resources and instructed the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy to consider the possibility of opening a faculty for training laboratory specialists, while medical colleges should enhance the training of laboratory technicians.

For scientific and methodological support of the project, an expert, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Rysbek Abdildaev, with significant experience in early detection of malignant tumors, including in the USA, will be involved.

The minister also emphasized the need to implement digital solutions, such as process automation, electronic data exchange, and analytics formation by nosology. “Digital analytics allows for identifying the prevalence of diseases in regions, determining risks, and necessary measures. This is a key aspect of evidence-based medicine and healthcare management,” he added.

The Ministry will continue to study the logistical and technological models used to adapt best practices in the state reference laboratory. The project also includes the construction of a laboratory “from scratch,” equipping it with modern equipment, creating a regional network, establishing its own logistics, a quality control system, and implementing a digital platform for working with medical institutions.
