According to specialists from the Bishkek Center for Health Promotion, vaccination is one of the most effective methods of flu prevention. For over six decades, safe and time-tested vaccines have been used in the healthcare system.

According to their information, injectable inactivated influenza vaccines are the most widely used in the world. The vaccine provides reliable protection for healthy adults even when the circulating viruses do not match the strains contained in the vaccine. Although the effectiveness of vaccination may be lower for older adults, it significantly reduces the severity of the illness, lowers the risk of complications, and decreases the likelihood of death.

The World Health Organization recommends annual vaccination for pregnant women at any stage, children aged 6 months to 5 years, older adults over 65 years, as well as individuals with chronic diseases and healthcare workers, after consulting with a doctor.

In addition to vaccination and antiviral treatment, experts emphasize the importance of adhering to individual protective measures. These measures include regular hand washing with thorough drying, maintaining respiratory hygiene, timely self-isolation upon the appearance of flu symptoms, avoiding close contact with sick individuals, and refraining from touching the eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
