At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Bekmyrza Ergeshev raised an important issue regarding the state of healthcare in the country, noting that 6,400 new cases of oncology are registered in Kyrgyzstan each year. Of this number, 2,000 cases are accounted for by the southern region, according to data from the Osh Interregional Oncology Center.

He pointed out that the existing oncology center in Osh is outdated and does not meet international standards. In 2013, the building of the center was already in an emergency state, and it had to be relocated to a kindergarten building. Since then, the issue of constructing a new center remains unresolved. The deputy expressed concern about the lack of a linear accelerator, which is necessary for the treatment of 85% of patients with cancer, creating serious risks to patient health.

Ergeshev emphasized that the material and technical base of the center requires complete modernization. He stressed the need to build a new modern oncology center, for which a land plot has already been allocated.

In addition, the deputy also discussed the situation with the infectious diseases hospital in the city of Osh, which currently has a capacity of 270 beds.

He mentioned that during periods of respiratory disease outbreaks, small children are often placed in the corridors, which creates discomfort for both patients and medical staff. In 2025, the hospital provided assistance to 17,000 patients, highlighting the need for the construction of a new functional hospital with 500 beds. {lang_tg} {lang_share_buttons}
