At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Bekmurza Ergeshov, representing district No. 6, stated the need for the construction of a new building for the Osh Interregional Oncology Center. Currently, the oncology service operates in the premises of a kindergarten and suffers from a lack of modern equipment.

According to the deputy, approximately 6,400 new cases of cancer are recorded annually in the country, of which about 2,000 cases are in the southern region. He also noted that the building currently housing the oncology service was declared emergency in 2010, after which the medical institution was forced to relocate to a kindergarten. "Since then, the issue of a new building remains unresolved," Ergeshov emphasized, adding that the technical base of the center is outdated.

He reported that a plot for the new oncology center has already been allocated and called for the acceleration of its construction process.

In addition, the deputy mentioned that the infectious diseases hospital of the Osh Clinical Hospital, which has 275 beds, also requires upgrading. During epidemics, patients often find themselves in the corridors due to a lack of space.

Ergeshov proposed to build a new infectious diseases hospital capable of accommodating 500 patients. {lang_tg} {lang_share_buttons}
