The deputy spoke about the risk of cross-infection due to a lack of autoclaves at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health.
According to the deputy, this medical institution uses a steam sterilizer, or autoclave, which was manufactured in 1996. It frequently breaks down and cannot handle the workload.
Every day, the center needs to perform over 100 sterilization procedures. However, due to the malfunctioning autoclave, medical instruments have to be transported for sterilization to Maternity Hospital No. 6 using an ambulance, and then returned.
Sadyrbaeva emphasized that such a practice does not meet sanitary standards and creates a risk of cross-infection, as sterilization is carried out in different medical institutions, including those with purulent infections.
In light of the above, the deputy called for urgent measures to provide the National Center for Maternal and Child Health with a new autoclave.
