Elmyra Torokeldi kyzy, who has given birth to six children, has experienced the joy of having twins twice.

Elmyra, a mother of many, was born on August 18, 1992, in the village of Chak in the Chon-Alai district of the Osh region. She currently lives with her husband in the village of Kozhomkul, located on the outskirts of Bishkek.

Their family has settled separately, as Elmyra's husband is the eldest son in his family.

At present, Elmyra is fully dedicated to raising her children, striving to make them worthy and educated individuals.

Among her six children are five daughters and one son, making their family special, as four of the children are twins.

The first set of twins were girls Aizhanat and Nurzhanat, born on April 2, 2020, during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

Elmyra shares: “When we found out about the twins, we were overjoyed. I have loved twin girls since childhood; there were sisters in my village who were always together. Upon learning that we would have twins, we hurried to share this joy with everyone,” she says.

When Elmyra became pregnant again, the doctors delivered another unexpected message — twins were expected. At first, this caused surprise, but then it became a source of great joy.

“Another set of twins was a shock for us. We had experienced many sleepless nights with the first twins, and that memory immediately came back. When I told my husband, he was puzzled: ‘How is that possible?’. Only when we got home did we truly rejoice. But until my belly became noticeable, we didn’t tell anyone,” Elmyra recalls.

The second set of twins, Nuriya and Nurzhigit, was born on June 19, 2025, and they are now 9 months old and actively crawling.

At birth, Aizhanat weighed 3 kg 500 g, and Nurzhanat weighed 3 kg 400 g, with a 10-minute difference. Nuriya and Nurzhigit were born weighing 3 kg and 2 kg 900 g, with a 7-minute difference.

The older girls were named after their paternal grandmother, while the names for the younger twins were chosen by their parents.

“I named Nuriya after Nuriya Kuniller, the wife of a player from the Barcelona football club. And we named our son after the famous Nurzhigit Kadyrbekov, hoping he will grow up to be an educated and well-mannered person,” the mother added.

The first twins, although similar, have their differences: one has fair skin, while the other has a darker complexion. Their personalities also differ: one is open, while the other is more reserved.

In the life of a family where twins are growing up, many amusing stories occur.

Elmyra recalls one incident: “Once, when the girls were sick, I took them to the hospital. In a state of anxiety, I didn’t realize that I had shown the same daughter to the doctor twice, while leaving the other at home. When I arrived, I understood this by their clothes,” she laughs.

Now her twin daughters attend kindergarten and plan to go to school this year. They also help their mother and take turns looking after the younger children.

“The twins are very curious and smart. When they go to visit or see kind people on TV, they say: ‘I want to be like that too.’ Modern children have big dreams. At five years old, they already say: ‘I want to study in America and become an inventor,’” Elmyra shares.

According to her, raising twins requires immense patience.

“I believe that twins are given only to patient and strong mothers. Carrying them in my womb, sleepless nights, illnesses — all of this requires strength, which I believe comes from God. It is truly a miracle, and we always live with gratitude,” she concluded.
