Life in the Regions: Mahabat Dubanaeva Opened a Sewing Workshop in the Village and Provides Women with Jobs
In this workshop, they produce trousseaus for brides, school uniforms for children, and even carpets. Initially, there were 8 seamstresses working here, but now 5 women have permanent employment.
“At the end of 2024, I participated in a project and received a sewing machine. I have been passionate about sewing since 2013, I underwent training and gained experience, which inspired me to open my own workshop. This not only improves the financial situation of women but also allows them to work close to their children without going abroad for work. Since our village is located far from the city, residents can use our services without leaving it. We produce not only school uniforms and trousseaus but also mattresses, curtains, carpets, and much more. For example, those who are about to marry off their daughters or prepare for a celebration can do everything here without traveling far. Previously, we ordered cutting from outside, but it was too expensive and reduced our profits,” Dubanaeva said.
Mahabat actively participates in various trainings and projects. At the beginning of her career, she sewed herself and did fitting work. Before opening her workshop, she trained with an experienced master from Leilek to acquire the necessary skills.
“In the future, I plan to expand my business and create more jobs. With the arrival of spring, the number of orders for dresses, trousers, and other products increases,” she added.
Mahabat has two sons and two daughters, one of her sons is already married and has children.
She manages a sewing workshop for girls called “Kyzgaldak.”
