Alexandra Parakhina, a resident of Kara-Balta, is engaged in growing unusual houseplants, among which are orchids with images of a vampire inside the flower.

In a conversation with a Turmush correspondent, she shared that her passion for floriculture has become a true hobby for her. Currently, she has blooming phalaenopsis orchids.

“I have been working with these plants for about four years. These orchids can live up to ten years. Their homeland is Southeast Asia, where they inhabit trees without harming them,” noted Alexandra.

The trees serve as support for the roots of the phalaenopsis. To stimulate flowering, it is enough to spray the plants with warm water in the mornings.

“If you look closely, you can see an image of a bat inside the flower, as is usually depicted in vampire graphics. With proper care, healthy phalaenopsis can bloom up to three times a year,” she added.

In addition to orchids, Alexandra also grows pineapples, Arabica coffee, mangoes, and avocados. She plans to grow dragon fruit and lychee.
