Aizat Syrgak kyzy, a native of the village of Aral in the Talas region, currently lives in Talas and serves as the executive director of the Chess Federation of the Talas region.

In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, she shared that she graduated with honors from the Kyrgyz State Law Academy, earning both a bachelor's and a master's degree. By profession a lawyer, she worked in her field, but in recent years her life has focused on chess: she leads a club at a school and manages her own section.

“My interest in chess began in my school years when I learned to play from my older brother. The passion became so strong that I started practicing on my own. In university, a teacher was looking for girls to play chess, and I stated that I could play. I was sure that I would lose to stronger opponents in the city, but to my surprise, I won against everyone and joined the university team. This inspired me to take it more seriously: I actively participated in tournaments and won prizes. Even after graduating, I did not leave chess,” she says.

Once, Aizat learned about a tournament for women coaches in Kyrgyzstan. “I didn’t see much need to participate, but my coach insisted on it. I agreed, although I was sure I wouldn’t make it to the prize winners. On the day of the tournament, I played and scored 8.5 points out of 9, taking first place. This is one of the most memorable tournaments in my life. I also remember a match among lawyers, where I won against Dastan Bekeshov, which was also a significant moment. Later, I got married and moved to Talas.

Now, together with my husband, we are raising a daughter. He and his entire family supported me in my desire to work with children, as it requires someone who will inspire and teach them. Without their support, it would have been difficult for me to engage in this activity. I often wonder: could I continue if there wasn’t any support?” shares Syrgak kyzy.

Now they have started taking children to championships across Kyrgyzstan. “Each game is a new stage and additional motivation for the kids. They gain experience in every match and become stronger. I strive to bring a lot of new things to this field and reach new heights,” concluded Aizat Syrgak kyzy.
