According to Asanaliev, the problem of domestic violence remains one of the most significant issues in society. He noted: “Despite the fact that the state has adopted laws aimed at tightening responsibility for these crimes and has implemented organizational measures, instances of domestic violence continue to occur in our country.”
In particular, under Article 177 of the Criminal Code, which concerns responsibility for domestic violence, 36 criminal cases were initiated this year. In total, 656 cases of violence among family members have been registered across the republic, resulting in 458 women, 104 children, and 94 men being harmed, the Attorney General added.
Additionally, within the framework of the Code of Offenses, 6,018 protocols have been drawn up regarding instances of domestic violence, for which appropriate measures have been taken.
The Attorney General emphasized that the prosecutor's office conducts regular monitoring of the registration of all statements and materials related to domestic violence that are submitted to law enforcement agencies. This also pertains to the legality of the decisions made, the progress of investigations, and the judicial consideration of such cases.
During inspections of the enforcement of legislation in the area of domestic violence prevention in 2025, 363 violations were identified, resulting in 145 acts of prosecutorial response. As a result, 153 officials from the authorized bodies were held accountable for disciplinary violations, Asanaliev added.
