It is noted that the Ministry of Education has implemented a zoning principle for online registration, allowing parents to submit applications not only to one designated school but also to choose two additional educational institutions.
In the appeal, it is emphasized that this initiative was timely and well thought out, as it allowed parents to take into account the language of instruction and other important factors when choosing a school for their children.
Many families prepared in advance, planning to submit documents to suitable schools according to the new rules. However, according to parents, on the eve of the enrollment, this opportunity was unexpectedly canceled without any explanations. Changes occurred at the last moment, without prior notifications or discussions.
Parents expressed their dissatisfaction, noting: "This happened overnight, as if it was done secretly. Such decisions undermine trust in the reforms being implemented. Even if the agency had valid reasons, the public should have been informed in advance and parents' opinions should have been taken into account."
As an example, they cited a situation where, during the preliminary registration, the child's father had a choice of three schools - No. 70, 24, and 6. Now, only school No. 70 is available.
The authors of the appeal ask: "Why weren't we notified in advance? This is unfair."
The Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic confirmed to Kaktus.media that they are aware of such complaints and promised to provide a response later.
We remind you that starting April 1, the process of enrolling first-graders in school in Kyrgyzstan is conducted only online, through the special portal 1mektep.edu.gov.kg. At the same time, the practice of enrolling children aged seven directly into the second grade, as was done last year, has been canceled.
