Reports about monetary payments and fees concerning individuals who have not served in the army or have chosen alternative service have become a topic of discussion in public circles. The Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan has decided to clarify the situation, stating that no new obligations for citizens are being introduced.

According to the Ministry of Defense, there is only a clarification of existing norms aimed at aligning them with current legislation on universal military duty. "Recently, questions related to alternative service have been actively discussed on the internet and social media. We want to emphasize that at this moment there are no new monetary fines, and the existing payments were outlined in a government decree. Every citizen has the right to choose: to serve in the military or to serve in an alternative capacity. If a citizen wishes to enter the mobilization reserve or undergo alternative service, contributions are made only at their discretion. This is not mandatory," the ministry stated.

Additionally, the Ministry of Defense urged citizens to rely solely on official sources of information and not to spread rumors and inaccurate data.
