
Sergey Vakunov, speaking to the participants, emphasized the special significance of the year 2026, which has been declared the Year of Unity of Peoples in Russia, especially in the context of global instability. He highlighted that interethnic harmony and commitment to traditional values are the foundation for the sustainable development of states. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to compatriots for their efforts in preserving the Russian language and culture, as well as for their significant contribution to the development of humanitarian and educational projects.
In his report, Vakunov paid special attention to legal issues, stressing the need to protect the interests of Russian compatriots and prevent discrimination, particularly in light of the tightening requirements for proficiency in the state language in the republic. He also called for active measures against attempts to distort historical truth and to protect objects of common cultural heritage. One of the main events of the current year will be commemorative actions such as "Immortal Regiment," "Georgian Ribbon," "Candle of Memory," and "Garden of Memory," with a particular focus on youth participation.
The award ceremony became one of the key moments of the conference. Zulfiya Khaibullina, the organizer of the "Immortal Regiment" movement in Kyrgyzstan, received a commemorative medal "80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945" on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ambassador reminded everyone about the upcoming elections to the State Duma of Russia, which will take place from September 18 to 20, 2026. Voting stations will be organized in Kyrgyzstan. The participants of the conference adopted a resolution expressing support for the state policy of Russia aimed at protecting the rights of compatriots and strengthening the Russian World.
