The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan made changes on October 10, 2023, to resolution number 541, which regulates the stay of foreign citizens in the country.
According to the updates, the conditions for the stay of foreigners have been clarified, including the procedure for obtaining visas and the possibility of entry without a visa. Now, foreigners arriving in the country without a visa can contact the competent authorities to arrange the necessary documents for legal stay.
Changes also affect certain categories of citizens. Ethnic Kyrgyz and their families can legalize their status if they have the relevant documents, obtaining the right to a one-time entry within 30 working days.
Additionally, the rules for obtaining short-term visas for up to seven days have now been simplified. These visas can be issued through Manas International Airport or by using the "Electronic Visa" portal with a petition from licensed gambling establishments.
Specific entry conditions have been outlined for citizens of China, including tourist groups and residents of special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau. Clear deadlines for visa-free stays and restrictions on extensions without additional documentation have been established for them.
The changes will take effect 10 days after official publication.
