On March 27, a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council took place in Shymkent, attended by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, who was on a working visit to Kazakhstan.
At the meeting, leaders of the governments of the countries that are part of the Eurasian Economic Union, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, representatives of observer states, and the leadership of the Eurasian Economic Commission gathered.
In his speech, Kasymaliev emphasized the positive dynamics of the economic indicators of the Union countries over the past five years. He noted that compared to 2020, all EAEU states demonstrated GDP growth and increased the volume of mutual trade, adding that Kyrgyzstan's economy is also showing stable development.
Additionally, he highlighted issues of labor migration, pointing out that there is often a lack of necessary coordination between states when developing national initiatives. In this regard, Kasymaliev proposed creating a permanent platform for consultations among relevant agencies.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers also noted the importance of improving logistics efficiency and applying digital solutions to accelerate processes and enhance their transparency. He pointed out the existing additional control measures at various stages of supplies, including tax assessments.
Kasymaliev identified key areas for the Union's development: digital transformation, industrial cooperation, and innovation, stressing the need to improve infrastructure, train personnel, and refine the regulatory framework.
As a result of discussions in both narrow and expanded formats, 13 issues were considered, leading to the signing of several documents.
The next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is scheduled for August 2026 in Kyrgyzstan.
