The heads of the Jogorku Kenesh and the State Duma held talks in Moscow
In Moscow, a meeting took place between Marlen Mamataliyev, the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, and Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the State Duma. This was reported by the press service of the State Duma.
It is worth noting that Mamataliyev's visit to Russia was his first foreign trip since being appointed as the head of the parliament of Kyrgyzstan, which took place at the invitation of Volodin.

During the talks, important aspects of the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed.

Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized that the countries are connected by special allied relations.

“These ties create a foundation for trust. Trust, in turn, opens up opportunities for further development,” he added.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma, active cooperation between the two countries is supported by the leaders of Russia and Kyrgyzstan — Vladimir Putin and Sadyr Japarov.

“We must make efforts to legally enshrine the agreements reached and contribute to the development of bilateral relations,” Volodin addressed his colleague.

He also emphasized that the State Duma attaches great importance to the development of dialogue with the Jogorku Kenesh.

“It is necessary to use various formats of cooperation,” he added, reminding about the work of the inter-parliamentary commission.

Marlen Mamataliyev, for his part, noted that Russia is a key ally and strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan.

“We value our friendly relations with the Russian Federation, which are based on complete mutual understanding, trust, and a shared history, culture, and strategic interaction,” he said.

The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh emphasized that inter-parliamentary ties play an important role in bilateral relations.
