Financial Rehabilitation: Kyrgyzstan Increases Spending on Healthcare Salaries

From April 1, nurses' salaries will increase almost threefold

The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced a significant increase in salaries for medical workers. This was reported by Klara Oskonbaeva, head of the budget policy and financial analysis department, during the broadcast of the program "Elden Sobol".

According to the provided data, the base rate for mid-level medical personnel will rise from 11,968 soms to 19,360 soms. An important element of this increase will be the presidential compensation set at 15,000 soms per position.

Klara Oskonbaeva clarified that the total amount of payments will be approximately 36,000 soms. After accounting for taxes and social contributions, the "net" income for specialists without experience will be about 29,000 soms. This means an almost threefold increase in real incomes for the most vulnerable group of workers in this sector.

Experts view this decision as an attempt to prevent the outflow of qualified personnel from the public sector. Starting from April 2026, an average 100% increase in the salary fund for medical workers is expected across the country, which will be the largest one-time increase in the social sphere in recent years.
