Personnel appointments: the GKNB denied political ambitions and behind-the-scenes influence
The press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) responded to reports that appeared in the media and social networks regarding personnel decisions in the special services.
“Recently, critical materials about personnel appointments in the security block of Kyrgyzstan have been actively discussed in public discourse and on social platforms. In this regard, considering the emergence of unreliable information, the SCNS finds it important to clarify its position,” the agency representatives noted.
Several publications contain unfounded claims about “political ambitions” and the involvement of behind-the-scenes influences by certain individuals. These statements are not supported by evidence. The authors refer to anonymous sources, which contradicts the principles of honest journalism and raises doubts about the reliability of the information,” emphasized the SCNS.
The agency also reminded that all personnel appointments in government structures are carried out in strict accordance with legislative norms.
“When making decisions, the professional achievements, educational level of candidates, as well as their business and moral qualities are taken into account. Accusations of “incompatibility” with the positions held without specific facts are unfounded,” the committee added.
The SCNS urged journalists and social media users to base their conclusions on reliable information from official sources. The dissemination of unverified data can mislead the public and undermine trust in government institutions.
The committee emphasizes its commitment to the principles of openness and believes that constructive and honest dialogue is only possible based on facts, not assumptions based on anonymous sources,” the agency concluded.
