Alexander Lukashenko praised Alla Pugacheva: for what and why
President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, highly praised Alla Pugacheva, noting her decision to become a mother of twins through surrogacy. This was reported by the Belta news agency.

Lukashenko urged society not to judge women who turn to modern technologies for having children. He pointed out that the opinions and criticism directed at Pugacheva when she used the services of a surrogate mother were inappropriate.

The head of state emphasized: “What are these moral norms? Where do they come from? If a woman wants to become a mother, that is sacred. If it is impossible naturally, all possible methods should be supported.” He cited the example of Alla Pugacheva, who, thanks to new reproductive technologies, became a mother of two children.

The president added that despite the criticism coming from various segments of society and even from spiritual leaders, he considers her act commendable. “They say her children are wonderful. Let her give birth as she sees fit; the main thing is that the children are good,” noted Lukashenko.

This topic was discussed during the work on the draft decree on in vitro fertilization.

In 2019, Lukashenko awarded Pugacheva the Order of Friendship of Peoples, recognizing her contribution to the development of cultural ties between Belarus and Russia.

After 2022, Alla Pugacheva, along with her husband Maxim Galkin and twins Harry and Lisa, lives outside of Russia.
