Trump emphasized that the US has made significant progress in its military operations against Iran.
The President outlined the main objectives set for the American forces:
- complete destruction of Iran's missile capabilities;
- elimination of the country's defense industry, as well as Iranian naval and air forces;
- forcing Iran to abandon its nuclear program;
- ensuring the security of Middle Eastern allies of the United States, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Trump also noted that control over the Strait of Hormuz will be exercised by "the states that use it," and that the US will not participate in this process.
"If necessary, we will assist these countries in securing Hormuz, but once the threat from Iran is eliminated, there will be no need for that," he added.
Since February 28 of this year, the US and Israel have continued military actions against Iran. Despite the hopes of Washington and Tel Aviv for a quick victory, tensions in the region continue to rise.
