The results and new priorities of the 'PROXY' operation were discussed at the CSTO.

A meeting dedicated to the "PROXY" operation aimed at combating crimes in the field of information technology was held at the CSTO Secretariat. Opening the meeting, Valery Semerikov, Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO, announced the results of the work over the past year. He noted that in the context of growing international tension, competent authorities successfully coped with new operational challenges. In 2025, significant improvements were made in protecting the information space and intensifying the fight against cyberterrorism, drugs, and extremism related to information and communication technologies.

During the discussion, participants outlined the directions for joint work in 2026. The main focus will be on protecting national interests in the digital environment. Key tasks will include preventing the dissemination of information that could cause political damage, combating interethnic and religious hatred, as well as preventing the recruitment of citizens to participate in terrorist and extremist groups in the context of armed conflicts.

This year, emphasis will be placed on identifying and blocking resources used for illegal activities, combating malware, and dismantling criminal groups engaged in electronic fraud. CSTO member countries will continue their joint efforts to expose transnational groups involved in drug trafficking and other forms of organized crime on the internet.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants noted that the "PROXY" operation has proven to be one of the most effective tools for collective interaction. The coordinated work of relevant ministries and law enforcement agencies allows for a prompt response to current cyber threats, ensuring a high level of collective security for all CSTO member states.
