The Ministry of Construction has suspended the implementation of the philharmonic project in Manas, which would require nearly 7 billion soms. This was reported by Nurdana Oruntaev, the head of the department.
According to the minister, the philharmonic in Bishkek is one of the largest concert halls in the country, accommodating 1,100 spectators. Despite regular concerts, this facility has not yet reached self-sufficiency. At the same time, a philharmonic was planned in Manas, capable of holding 3,200 people, with a total area of 57,000 square meters and a budget of 6.8 billion soms.
Oruntaev emphasized that such an amount is significant for the republic's budget and could be used to build 14 new schools.
However, the minister noted that Manas will not be left without a concert hall: a smaller building for cultural events will be constructed in the city.
