Chinese Ambassador: The relations between Kyrgyzstan and China have entered a 'golden age'

In 2025, it became clear that the relations between Kyrgyzstan and China had reached a new level, which can be characterized as a "golden age." This was announced by the Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Liu Jianping, at a briefing dedicated to the outcomes of the sessions of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Over the past year, there have been three meetings between the heads of the two states, highlighting the high level of trust and strategic rapprochement between them.

Liu Jianping noted that the solid political foundation laid earlier is now leading to the implementation of large-scale projects that seemed impossible two decades ago.

One of the most significant projects is the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway, which has become the largest investment project in the history of bilateral relations and holds strategic importance for the entire region. The project for the Barskoon–Bedel road is also actively being implemented with the participation of leading Chinese contractors. An important part of the agenda is the development of a "green economy," including the construction of a waste incineration plant in Bishkek with an investment of 95 million dollars. Additionally, the first pharmaceutical enterprise in Kyrgyzstan, "Standartfarm," has been established, with about 41 million dollars of Chinese investment," added the ambassador.

Liu Jianping also emphasized that the "golden age" is felt by ordinary citizens: in 2025, there was a 50% increase in the number of issued Chinese visas, which is a vivid testament to the mutual openness and rapprochement of the two countries.
