The Head of the State National Security Committee (GKNB), Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, noted in a conversation with the AKIpress agency that the issue of depriving the GKNB of its powers in the fight against economic crimes and corruption is not on the agenda. He added that discussions about the creation of an independent Investigative Committee are currently being conducted by a special group, but no specific decisions have been reached yet.
“The creation of an independent Investigative Committee is at the stage of study and discussion within a special group under the Presidential Administration. However, I do not have information on the exact timelines for its formation. Additionally, it should be noted that attempts to discredit the work of the special services through information leaks have no legal basis and are aimed at undermining trust in state institutions,” emphasized Shabdanbekov.
