The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has confirmed that a criminal case has been initiated regarding possible corrupt actions at the OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz." This decision came as a result of the publication of video materials from an investigation by the State Tax Service titled "Oil for Their Own: How 'Kyrgyzneftegaz' Was Ruined." These materials raise questions about possible unlawful actions by the company's employees.

During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that some employees of "Kyrgyzneftegaz," using their official powers, may have conspired with certain companies to organize illegal schemes for the realization and sale of fuel and lubricants.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, officials were aware that "Kyrgyzneftegaz" is a strategically important enterprise and is wholly owned by the state; however, according to the investigation, they acted against the interests of both the state and society.

The agency also noted that against the backdrop of rising fuel prices in the country, instead of taking measures to improve the situation, conditions were created for the operation of certain affiliated companies. The investigation believes that this could have been aimed at obtaining illegal profits, including tax evasion and other mandatory payments.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning "Corruption."

Currently, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, investigative actions are being conducted with the participation of specialists from the State Tax Service, aimed at clarifying all the circumstances of the case and holding those responsible accountable.
