Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia Agree on Mutual Extradition. Law Signed

President Sadyr Japarov has signed a new law that ratifies the Extradition Treaty between the Kyrgyz Republic and Mongolia, signed on July 21, 2025, in Bishkek. This was reported by the information policy service of the head of state.

The law, adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on February 19, 2026, is intended to carry out the necessary internal procedures in Kyrgyzstan for the extradition treaty to come into effect.

This document outlines the process for submitting and reviewing extradition requests, grounds for refusal, as well as issues related to temporary detention, transit, and the execution of requests depending on the stage of the criminal case. Its aim is to enhance cooperation in the field of international criminal law and strengthen mechanisms for the extradition of criminals.

The law will come into effect ten days after its official publication.
