During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Agrarian Policy, Ecology, and Environmental Protection, deputies expressed dissatisfaction with the condition of the capital's parks. They pointed out serious problems with landscaping and insufficient watering of trees.

Deputy Azizbek Tursunbaev emphasized the "Yntymak" park located near the Southern Highway. He noted that the trees are planted too chaotically and do not reach significant heights, which prevents them from providing shade. "Look at how disorderly the trees are arranged. They grow too low, and they are of no use. Previously, tree planting was done without proper planning, and now we have this mess. The paving is also laid out without any order," he stressed. The deputy added that the trees on the Southern Highway are planted too close to each other, depriving them of sufficient space to grow.

Furthermore, Tursunbaev criticized the practice of pruning trees, calling for not just trimming but removing dry and sick specimens.

In response to the criticism, Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliyev stated that both deep and surface pruning is being carried out in Bishkek to improve the condition of green spaces. He noted that based on the analysis, it was recommended to plant seven species of deciduous trees suitable for the city's conditions. "As for the 'Yntymak' park, yes, there was indeed chaotic planting, but overall, the landscaping has been done at an acceptable level," Aliyev added.

Parliamentarian Mahabat Mavlyanova also expressed dissatisfaction with the condition of the Azerbaijan Park. "When the park was handed over for use, it was in excellent condition, a lot of funds were invested in it! Now almost 90 percent of the juniper trees and grass have dried up. The city hall plans to build new parks but cannot maintain the existing ones. This is irresponsible behavior," she noted.

In response, Ramiz Aliyev stated that the Azerbaijan Park was transferred to the local authorities two years ago and acknowledged that its condition leaves much to be desired. "Not all 90 percent of the trees have dried up, but nevertheless, there is plenty of work to be done there. Currently, the area is receiving sufficient water," he added.

Deputy Tabyldy Muratbekov also pointed out the deplorable condition of the Dair Asanov Park, where the paving has cracked and there is no lighting.
