The Housing Committee approved the construction of the KRSU campus in Baytik.

On the territory of the Baytik aiyl aimak in the Alamudun district of the Chui region, the construction of a new campus for the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University is planned, for which about 30 hectares of land will be allocated. The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Science, Education, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs approved the relevant bill for the ratification of the intergovernmental agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Russia in the first reading.

According to Bekbolsun Borubashov, Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations, the agreement for the construction of the KRСU campus was signed on November 26, 2025, in Bishkek between the governments of the two countries.

He added that the Kyrgyz side provided the land on the terms of free and indefinite use, which is being carried out through the State Property Management Fund.

Kyrgyzstan will be responsible for resolving all land and engineering issues, while the Russian side will fully finance the construction of the campus. In the first phase of the project, about 15 billion rubles are planned to be allocated.

Borubashov also noted that the agreement is currently under consideration in the State Duma of Russia.

According to the terms of the document, upon completion of construction, all property will belong to Kyrgyzstan.
