A Member of Parliament Proposes to Create a Separate Department for Organic Matters
She emphasized that organic products are in high demand at the international level.
“Our country can derive significant profit from this sector, considering that the ecology and natural conditions of Kyrgyzstan are ideally suited for organic farming. Currently, the Ministry of Water Management and Agriculture operates independently of each other. In Soviet times, the agrochemical laboratory played a key role in the development of agriculture, and soil health was fundamental. However, due to the prolonged use of chemicals in agronomy, the soil has undergone significant degradation and lost its beneficial properties,” the deputy noted.
She also added that the development of organic agriculture is currently overseen by only one department.
“But this is not enough, as a small number of staff are responsible for 18 clusters, including organic. Therefore, it is necessary to create a separate department that will focus on the development of organic products,” concluded Mahabat Mavlyanova.
