Toraga ЖК: It is necessary to increase the number of crisis centers in Kyrgyzstan
The Speaker noted that in recent years, thanks to the president's initiative, the state has been actively addressing social issues aimed at combating gender violence, protecting the rights of women and children, and strengthening family values.
Marlen Mamataliyev emphasized that in the first ten months of last year alone, 18,254 cases of domestic violence were recorded in Kyrgyzstan, while the number of active crisis centers in the country is only 17.
“We need to increase the number of such centers to cover all regions of the country,” he added.
Representatives of the crisis centers pointed to insufficient funding as one of the main problems. In 2025, 28 million soms were allocated to support these institutions, but in 2026, funding was reduced to 15 million soms.
The Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration explained the funding cut by stating that part of the funds was not used last year. However, crisis centers claim that delays in receiving funding occur due to the lengthy review of projects.
As a result of the meeting, Marlen Mamataliyev instructed government agencies to thoroughly address all the raised issues and take necessary measures.
