During the session of the Jogorku Kenesh on March 11, Gulya Kozhokulova called on President Sadyr Japarov to implement reforms in the judicial system.

She emphasized that corruption cases and recent events in the country were largely influenced by the work of the judicial system.

The deputy noted: "Courts often made unjustified decisions at the direction of curators from the GKNB. Perhaps we should get rid of this practice?"

In response, Japarov demanded that she name these curators.

He added: "Manas, Almambet? Does the name Sulaymankulov mean anything to you?"

Kozhokulova admitted that she did not know specific names, but judges claim they were under curatorship.

The president replied: "There is no such practice now. It existed before, and we acknowledge that. Now everyone will do their own job. There were times when curators were among the leaders of the presidential administration, prosecutors, and judges. But that is no longer the case, and I strictly control this."

The deputy expressed hope for the necessity of reforms in the judicial system.

Japarov also noted that he has a chat with some judges who report pressure on them to make certain decisions. "I call them in and resolve the issues that arise," the president added.
