At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held today, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, emphasized the need to prioritize locally produced goods. This statement was a response to a question from Deputy Aigul Karabekova regarding the only enterprise in the country that produces syringes, whose share in government procurement remains low.

Japarov reminded that several years ago, the state provided support to this production. "Four or five years ago, when Alimkadir Beishenaliev was the minister, we issued an interest-free loan. This helped the enterprise get back on its feet. Currently, it produces about 500,000 syringes, but only a small portion goes to the domestic market," the president noted. He urged the minister to pay attention to this issue and conduct an analysis of where the syringe procurements come from and why local products are not being used.

Furthermore, the president demanded a review of syringe procurements and emphasized the importance of supporting domestic production, suggesting a gradual reduction of dependence on imports. "Attention must be paid to products made in Kyrgyzstan across the country. Ministries, deputies, and builders should focus on local production," he added.
