Sadyr Japarov: It's not the ministers or me who tarnish the image of deputies, but the deputies themselves
Japarov's comment was a response to the statements made by MP Erulan Kokulov, who pointed out the decline in the authority of the parliament among citizens and urged the president, as the guarantor of the Constitution, to help raise the status of the legislative body.
The head of state noted that the deputies themselves bear responsibility for the current situation.
“You raise insignificant issues at the podium and allow yourselves unworthy behavior, instead of addressing the pressing problems of the population. Sometimes deputies approach ministers on personal matters. However, if a deputy represents the interests of citizens, ministers should find time to communicate with them and work together to resolve issues,” he added.
In response, Kokulov pointed out that ministers often evade meetings with deputies, which is unacceptable. “I waste a lot of time waiting at the entrances to ministries to get to them,” he stated.
