Sadyr Japarov named the incentive for deputies in the digitization of the Jogorku Kenesh
He reported that for 2024, the Jogorku Kenesh plans to purchase 18 tons of paper, in 2025 – 10 tons, and in 2026 – 9 tons.
The head of state noted that over the past five years, 65 tons of paper have been used, and this is also an imported product that needs to be eliminated. Japarov also pointed out that money is spent on printing documents, ink, electricity, and salaries need to be paid to secretaries.
According to the president, the speaker of parliament, Marlen Mamataliyev, has advocated for the transition to the use of tablets and laptops.
He added: "The speaker is close to modern technologies, and I am confident that the transition will be made quickly. Forget about paper and pens – that is already outdated. If someone does not know how to work with technology, it’s time to learn. Involve assistants and IT specialists. Even bears can be taught to ride a bicycle. Three years ago, we transitioned the cabinet of ministers to the e-government system and have already saved billions of soms. You can save too. The saved funds could increase your budgets. We switched salary payments to electronic wallets, although there were deputies who opposed and wanted cash, but in the end, they got used to it," Japarov concluded.
