A Deputy Proposes Easing the Departure of Minors from Kyrgyzstan
Currently, for a child to travel abroad, one parent must obtain notarized consent from the other parent. Bekeshev proposes to abolish this requirement.
“In my draft law, I suggest that a parent wishing to control the child's departure can independently impose a ban through the mobile application 'Tunduk'. This decision can be appealed in court. I have also stipulated that the court must consider the issue of lifting or maintaining the ban within 10 days, rather than a month. These changes will not apply to citizens of other countries to prevent cases where they might take children and disappear. For example, there was a case where a Pakistani citizen took children—citizens of Kyrgyzstan—and their mother sought help for a long time,” noted Dastan Bekeshev.
The draft law will be submitted for public discussion.
