At a press conference on March 8, held during the session of the National People's Congress of China, Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and China's Foreign Minister, stated that the current situation with the military strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran raises serious concerns.
He noted that China takes an objective position and strongly calls for an immediate ceasefire, emphasizing the inadmissibility of the use of force.
The diplomat also added: "The use of weapons is evil, and it should be approached with particular caution. This conflict should never have started, and its consequences will bring no benefit to anyone."
Wang Yi outlined five main principles for the peaceful resolution of the conflict, among which the most important is the recognition of the territorial integrity of the countries in the Persian Gulf region. He also warned external states against interfering in the internal affairs of this region.
The minister concluded: "Attempts at provocations in the form of color revolutions and the overthrow of authorities will not receive support from the population."
