
In some countries, this act is subject to criminal liability
The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has signed a decree that prohibits the extradition of foreign citizens who serve or have served under contract in the Armed Forces of Russia and participated in combat operations. This document has been published on the official website of legal acts.
The initiative to amend the bill was presented by the Government of the Russian Federation to the State Duma. The changes concern Article 464 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Russia.
It should be noted that a number of countries, whose citizens serve in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation or participate in military actions, may face criminal prosecution under articles related to mercenarism or similar provisions.
