"I went through the hardest school". Mahabat Tajibek kyzy wrote a letter from prison
In her letter dated February 18, 2026, Mahabat Tajibek kyzy addressed the public. On March 4, her lawyer Asel Argymbaeva visited Mahabat and subsequently published the text of the letter with her consent.
Asel Argymbaeva reported that Mahabat is receiving support from many people around the world who, despite not knowing her personally, have sent hundreds of letters. All of them reach Tajibek kyzy, and she reads them carefully.

Since she does not have the opportunity to respond to each one, this letter became her response.

In this letter, Mahabat thanked everyone who sent her letters. She admitted that during lonely days, the support and kind words inspired her and gave her strength to continue the fight.

Moreover, Tajibek kyzy noted that her time in prison has made her more sociable and taught her to adapt to any conditions.
According to her, among the convicts and staff of the facility, there are both kind and decent people who have supported her. The prison administration provided her with opportunities for creative development: she was able to draw, play the komuz, and sing.
Mahabat also shared that, at her initiative, the library was updated.

She emphasized that she "went through a very difficult school and successfully passed the exam."
In conclusion of her letter, Mahabat expressed gratitude not only to her like-minded individuals and friends but also to those who were the reason for her "ticket" here. "I am immensely grateful to you, mom, husband, sisters, and everyone who worries about me," she concluded.


We remind you that Mahabat Tajibek kyzy was detained along with ten employees of Temirov Live in January 2024 on charges of organizing mass riots. The court sentenced her to six years in prison, Azamat Ishenbekov to five years, and Aika Beishikeeva was given three years of probation. Aktilek Kaparov also received three years of probation, while the other seven were acquitted.

In 2026, Mahabat's defense filed a petition for the case to be reopened based on newly discovered circumstances. The court hearing for this case is scheduled for March 10 in the Supreme Court.
