In Uzbekistan, life sentences for pedophiles have been introduced — the president signed the decree
According to the press service of the head of state, this decree is the result of discussions at a meeting on initiatives aimed at improving the protection of the rights of women and children. The decree clearly states that life imprisonment will be imposed for rape, indecent acts, and any violations of sexual integrity against minors.
It is worth noting that the authorities of Kyrgyzstan have also proposed to introduce a similar punishment for crimes against children and women.
The administration of President Sadyr Japarov previously presented a draft law that provides for life imprisonment for serious crimes against women and children.
This document stipulates mandatory punishment for pedophilia, as well as for murders related to rape. It also states that the property of those convicted of such crimes will be subject to mandatory confiscation.
