A deputy spoke about the low salaries in the media sector
Saltanat Amanova, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, drew attention to the insufficient salary levels among journalists, emphasizing the importance of state support for this sector.
She noted that media workers earn a minimum of 13,000 to 20,000 soms, and in rare cases, up to 30,000. According to her, due to the lack of attention to the state of journalism, many professionals are transitioning to blogging, while traditional formats such as newspaper and magazine journalism, as well as investigations, are gradually losing their popularity.
“Only journalists can provide the truth based on facts and statistics, while we cannot rise to the level of bloggers,” Amanova emphasized.
In her opinion, it is necessary to reconsider the wage system for media workers and provide them with additional forms of support, including addressing housing issues.
