Today, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva appealed to the authorities not to hinder the women's march planned for March 8.

According to her, the organizers of the event, representing the women's movement, want to celebrate International Women's Day with a peaceful procession.

“This event is aimed at drawing attention to issues of gender equality, women's rights, and problems of violence, among other relevant topics. Participants plan to march from the Urkuye Salieva monument to Gorky Park. Mainly, it will be women and girls, and I am sure that they should not be feared,” she noted.

Surabaldiyeva also added that in the past, organizers faced provocations during similar actions. She urged local authorities to ensure safety and allow women to peacefully celebrate this day, as well as to provide escort from the State Traffic Safety Department for the march.
