The media revealed the salary of the teachers of Putin's and Kabaeva's likely sons.
As reported by the magazine Stern, lessons for the young Ivan and Vladimir may have been conducted by Irene E., who received her teaching education in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. She was born in 1988 in Slavgorod, Russia, but soon moved with her family to Germany. In 2017, Irene taught German at a school in Siberia, and since 2021, she has been working as a translator in a private educational organization in St. Petersburg, earning 28,000 euros a year — significantly more than the average salary in this field.
Another teacher, according to the investigation, is 33-year-old Sofia B. from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who lived and studied in Austria for a long time and has been living in Russia since 2017. She is listed as an employee of a charitable organization associated with Alina Kabaeva. As noted by Stern, Kabaeva's relatives have purchased tickets for Irene E. several times for flights between Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Sochi, and sometimes they flew on the same plane as Sofia B.
Currently, Irene E. and Sofia B. are officially working as translators at Ena Invest, a company owned by Gennady Timchenko, a friend of Putin. In November 2025, their salary amounted to 2.9 million rubles (32,000 euros) each, which is almost 100 times more than the average monthly salary of Russian teachers.
According to Stern, Irene E. owns an apartment in Moscow measuring 117 square meters, valued at 1.6 million euros. She is registered in St. Petersburg. The German publication emphasizes that the presented facts are not definitive proof of these women's work for the President of Russia, but they "fit into the overall picture" of the system created by Putin, noted Georgy Alburov from FBK in an interview with the magazine.
In 2024, the Dossier Center, founded by Mikhail Khodorkovsky, published information about the alleged sons of Vladimir Putin and Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva, named Ivan and Vladimir. According to available data, they primarily reside in the presidential residence in Valdai and do not attend either school or kindergarten; they are surrounded by governesses, nannies, and coaches.
